About the Role:
Stonecreek Medical Associates PC is looking for a detail-oriented Medical Records Scanner to join our team in Paradise Valley, AZ. This is a great opportunity to play a vital role in keeping our patient records organized, accurate, and accessible in a professional healthcare environment. Knowledge in Athena a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Scan, index, and upload physical medical records and documents into the electronic health record (EHR) system
- Accurately classify and label scanned documents to ensure proper filing and retrieval
- Review scanned documents for quality, legibility, and completeness
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all patient health information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Prepare physical documents for scanning, including sorting, removing staples, and organizing files
- Assist with medical records requests and document retrieval as needed
- Report scanning errors or discrepancies to the medical records supervisor
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous experience in medical records, healthcare administration, or document scanning preferred
- Familiarity with Athena EHR/EMR system and document management software a plus
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced medical office environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage high volumes of documents
