CASHIER/FOOD SERVICE WORKER (PART TIME)

Location: Illinois Institute of Technology Overview We are hiring for part-time CASHIER/FOOD SERVICE WORKER positions. Address: 3201 South State Street, Chicago, IL 60616. Online applications accepted only. Schedule: Part-time; Monday through Friday, hours may vary. Weekends included. More details upon interview. Prior food service and cashier experience is preferred; IIT students are encouraged to apply. Fixed Pay Rate: $17.05 per hour. Responsibilities Operate the Point of Sale system and assist the Chef. Prepare coffee and keep coffee and cashier stations clean. Help prepare foods such as meats, vegetables, baked goods and desserts; assist with catering orders. Perform cashier duties using the POS system and maintain cash accuracy with receipts; make deposits at the end of each shift. Perform general cleaning duties and remove trash to designated areas. Provide service in all retail areas, including cashiering and line serving. Inventory and restock supplies and food products. Set up serving line, monitor temperatures, record readings, and notify cooks if temperatures are outside acceptable ranges. Serve hot and cold items to customers; prepare items for daily purchase. Keep refrigerators stocked and rotate products using first-in, first-out (FIFO). Maintain par levels in pantries and record replenishment and refrigerator temperatures daily. Performs other duties as assigned.
