Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will engage in a range of activities designed to support the mental health of a diverse client base. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive clinical assessments of patients to determine their mental health needs and generate tailored treatment plans.
  • Providing psychotherapy using evidence-based modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), adapting your approach based on individual preferences and treatment objectives.
  • Documenting client interactions and maintaining accurate clinical records in compliance with HIPAA and relevant regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and care continuity.
  • Collaborating closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver holistic care that addresses the multifaceted needs of clients.
  • Participating in regular case consultations and peer reviews, contributing to fine-tuning our therapeutic approaches and enhancing overall care quality.
  • Providing psychoeducation to patients and families, guiding them through available resources and treatment options to promote informed decision-making.
  • Staying abreast of the latest research in mental health, integrating new knowledge into practice to continually improve client outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The clients you will serve encompass a spectrum of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, grief, and trauma, particularly in the hospice context. You will empathically support individuals and families as they navigate significant emotional challenges related to illness, loss, and end-of-life decisions. Your role is pivotal in fostering resilience and emotional stability for both patients and their loved ones during these crucial times.

Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution, equipping you with the foundational knowledge to deliver effective therapy.
  • A valid license to practice as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Washington.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience with a focus on providing psychotherapy services.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, allowing you to build rapport with clients and collaborate efficiently with colleagues.
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving capabilities, enabling you to devise effective treatment strategies.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team, contributing to a cohesive approach to mental health care.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, experience in hospice care or working with terminally ill patients will be considered a significant asset. Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic interventions specific to grief and loss can further enhance your contributions to our team.
