Financial ControllerThe Financial Controller is a key financial leader responsible for all accounting, financial reporting, and internal control functions for a multi-state manufacturer and retailer of portable buildings, including a large and growing Rent-to-Own (RTO) portfolio. This role ensures the integrity of financial data, supports operational scalability, and provides leadership across manufacturing, retail, and RTO accounting functions. The Controller partners closely with the CFO and operational leaders to drive profitability, optimize working capital, and support strategic growth initiatives.This is a rare opportunity for a Controller to step into a high-impact role with an established, data-driven, vertically integrated business with 20+ years of success. Opportunities like this don't come along often.Graceland offers a competitive salary, company sponsored insurance offerings, a 401(k) with company match, a generous paid time off allowance, paid holidays, and so much more.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes ensuring accurate and timely financial reportingPrepare consolidated financial statements across multiple entities and states in accordance with GAAPEnsure audit-ready financials with strong documentation and reconciliation practicesEnsure proper financial controlsEstablish accounting policies and proceduresWork closely with FP and A to produce actual, budgeted, and forecasted financial informationOversee accounting for a large RTO portfolio, including:Cost accounting for inventoryRevenue recognition for retail salesDeferred revenue and receivables accountingPortfolio aging, collections tracking, and reserve analysisEstablish and monitor allowance for doubtful accountsPartner with CFO and Operations to optimize RTO portfolio performance and cash flowEnsure proper accounting treatment within NetSuite, including system configuration and reportingLead all cost accounting functions for manufacturing operationsStandard costing and variance analysisBill of materials managementLabor and overhead allocationOversee inventory accountingData analysisInventory valuationFulfill multi-state compliance and audit requirementsOversee coordination of tax filingsLead and develop accounting teamFoster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational partnershipQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceMaster's degree in Accounting or CPA designation strongly preferred8-12+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including leadership rolesPrior experience in:ManufacturingCost AccountingRent-to-Own, leasing, or installment based revenue models (preferred)Multi-entity, multi-state operationsHighly proficient in Excel and financial modelingStrong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and audit processesExtensive hands-on experience with an ERP (preferably NetSuite)Personal AttributesProven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environmentStrong analytical mindset with attention to detailAbility to translate financial data into actionable business insightsExcellent communication skills across finance and operations teams
