Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking a Physician Assistant for an emergency medicine locum tenens role supporting a community hospital in Lehigh Acres, Florida. This opportunity places providers within a busy outpatient emergency department environment focused on acute care for a diverse patient population, supported by modern electronic health records and strong specialty resources. For Physician Assistants seeking a stable, long-term clinical role in a high-volume emergency setting with dedicated physician and APP coverage, this opportunity offers a balanced mix of clinical volume and operational support in a modern outpatient environment. Opportunity Highlights- Location: Lehigh Acres, Florida
- Employment Type: Locum Tenens
- Setting: Outpatient emergency department
- Coverage: Ongoing
- Shifts: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Volume: Approximately 29,000 annual ED visits
- ED Beds: 11
- Admission Rate: 13%
- Staffing Coverage: Physicians 24 hours/day, APPs 22 hours/day
- Electronic Health Record: Meditech
- Strong specialty support including cardiology, orthopedics, radiology, and interventional services
Clinical Scope
- Evaluation, stabilization, and treatment of emergency patients
- Management of acute medical and traumatic presentations
- Procedures within scope of practice, including ACLS and PALS protocols
- Documentation within Meditech EHR
- Collaboration with physicians, nursing, and specialty teams
Requirements
- Active Florida Physician Assistant license
- Minimum of 1 year emergency medicine experience post-training (urgent care or ER staff nurse experience not considered)
- Board Certified Physician Assistant
- ACLS and PALS certifications
- 24 hours Stroke CME annually
