Shift Manager

Position Summary

The Shift Manager is responsible for leading daily

restaurant operations during assigned shifts while ensuring exceptional guest

service, food quality, cleanliness, food safety, and team performance. Shift

Managers lead by example, coach and develop team members, enforce Busy Boys

standards, and ensure every guest receives an outstanding experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all restaurant operations during assigned shifts.
• Ensure every guest receives friendly, fast, and professional service.
• Maintain Busy Boys standards for food quality, cleanliness, speed of service, and hospitality.
• Coach, train, and motivate Crew Members throughout each shift.
• Delegate tasks effectively to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
• Monitor labor deployment and adjust staffing assignments based on business volume.
• Ensure accurate cash handling procedures are followed.
• Oversee front counter, drive-thru, kitchen, dining room, and shake station operations.
• Ensure all food is prepared according to approved recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
• Verify food safety procedures, holding times, temperatures, and sanitation standards are consistently followed.
• Conduct shift line checks and restaurant inspections.
• Resolve guest concerns professionally while creating positive guest recovery experiences.
• Monitor ticket times and drive-thru performance to achieve company speed goals.
• Complete opening, shift change, and closing manager checklists.
• Count cash drawers and assist with deposits when assigned.
• Complete daily paperwork, shift reports, and communication logs.
• Maintain inventory levels and notify management of product shortages.
• Ensure all equipment is operating properly and report maintenance concerns immediately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe restaurant at all times.
• Enforce company policies, procedures, safety standards, and uniform requirements.
• Lead by example through professionalism, integrity, accountability, and a positive attitude.
• Perform all other restaurant duties as assigned by the General Manager or Assistant General Manager.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant experiece required.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to motivate and coach employees.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Basic math skills and cash handling experience.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
