Contract | Night Shift | 3x12-Hour Nights (18:45–07:15) | 36 Hours per Week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Neuro ICU setting, managing a complex patient population including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, subarachnoid hemorrhage, craniotomies, seizures, and post-neurosurgical cases
• Manage and monitor specialized neurological equipment including external ventricular drains (EVD), lumbar drains, Camino ICP monitoring, LICOX, NICOM, and Arctic Sun
• Perform and interpret cardiac rhythm monitoring, manage dysrhythmias, and administer continuous IV sedation and blood products
• Provide care for ventilated patients and maintain central line care and management in accordance with unit protocols
• Adhere to isolation precautions and proper PPE use; float within or near the facility as required per unit needs
• Document accurately using electronic health record and unit systems; follow scheduling requirements including every-other-weekend commitment

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required — general ICU experience alone does not meet this requirement
• Strong neuro critical care background with demonstrated experience managing stroke patients (ischemic, hemorrhagic), EVDs, lumbar drains, and ICP monitoring
• Active ACLS, BLS (BCLS), and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Proficiency with ventilator management, IV starts, central line care, CVA/acute stroke management, and post-neurosurgery care
• Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license required
• Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with arterial line management
• Familiarity with Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR documentation systems
