Job Title: CAD Draftsperson The CAD Draftsperson supports a broad product portfolio, manufacturing operations, customer requirements, and profitability objectives by creating, modifying, and managing high‑quality engineering documentation throughout the product lifecycle. This role focuses on producing and maintaining accurate 3D CAD models and fully defined engineering drawings with correct dimensioning, tolerancing, and annotations, while also supporting Engineering Change Management activities within Windchill and SAP. Responsibilities Create new and modify existing 3D CAD models and engineering drawings in accordance with engineering direction and approved drafting standards. Apply proper dimensioning, tolerancing, and annotations on drawings to clearly communicate design intent, fit, form, and function. Use GD&T and drafting best practices as appropriate for the product design and manufacturing processes. Ensure all drawings accurately reflect materials, finishes, assembly methods, and critical features. Maintain drawing consistency, including title blocks, revision blocks, and metadata, in line with established drafting standards. Follow local Design Control procedures and comply with applicable domestic and international regulatory requirements. Support Engineering Change Orders by implementing drawing and document revisions and ensuring all changes are accurately documented. Use Windchill to manage CAD data, drawings, revisions, and change records throughout the product lifecycle. Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure drawings support manufacturability, assembly, and inspection requirements. Develop and update supporting documentation, such as work instructions, assembly drawings, and component specifications, under engineering guidance. Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for assemblies and ensure consistency between CAD models, Windchill records, and SAP data. Understand manufacturing processes at a high level and reflect appropriate design intent in CAD models and engineering drawings. Create and maintain engineering‑related data in SAP, including material masters, BOMs, and document references, as applicable. Organize, file, and maintain electronic engineering documents according to established procedures and configuration control practices. Manage workload, priorities, and deadlines effectively while communicating status and progress with engineers and supervisors. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to drafting standards, documentation quality, and change management processes. Essential Skills 8+ years of related CAD drafting experience. Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and drawing creation. Strong understanding of engineering drawings, including dimensioning and tolerancing. Ability to apply GD&T and drafting best practices to support design and manufacturing requirements. Experience with SAP for creating and maintaining engineering‑related data, including material masters and Bills of Materials. Experience with Windchill or similar Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems for managing CAD data, revisions, and change records. Ability to follow Design Control procedures and work within regulated environments. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, consistent engineering documentation. Effective organizational skills for managing electronic engineering documents and configuration data. Strong communication and collaboration skills for working closely with engineers and cross‑functional teams. Additional Skills & Qualifications Drafting or CAD certification is preferred. Associate’s degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline is preferred. Experience with SolidWorks for 3D modeling and drawing creation. Experience with AutoCAD for 2D drafting and documentation. Familiarity with manufacturing processes and the ability to reflect process considerations in CAD models and drawings. Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives related to drafting standards and documentation quality. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Work Environment The role is based in a very clean manufacturing environment that includes laboratory and office spaces dedicated to the development and production of dental products, such as dental components and consumable items. The facility operates as both a manufacturing and development site, supporting the creation of dental components, including endodontic posts, self‑threading para‑pulpal pins, and various dental laboratory and hygiene products. The CAD Draftsperson works closely with engineering, manufacturing, and other technical teams, using tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, SAP, and Windchill in a professional office and lab setting within the broader manufacturing space.
