About the Position

Job Title: First Assist Profession: First Assist Specialty: OR Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday-Thursday or Monday-Friday Hours per Shift: 8.5 or 7.5 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years current experience License: RN license Certifications: RNFA certification; BLS/ACLS Must-Have: - At least 2 years current experience - First Assist experience with DaVinci Robot, Orthopedic Spine, Gynecology, Client, and General Surgery Description: Monday-Thursday 6:45 AM-5:15 PM or Monday-Friday 6:45 AM-3:15 PM. Candidates must have the required license at the time of submission. The unit has 9 operating rooms and a staff of 50. Day shift consists of 1 CNC, 7 RNs, and 7 surgical techs. Night shift includes 1 CNC/RN and 1 surgical tech. Patient ratios are set at 1:1. The unit is equipped with a DaVinci Robot and utilizes the Meditech EMR system. Typical procedures performed include lumbar and cervical spine procedures, spinal fusion, and instrumentation cases, as well as robotic general, gynecological, and urological procedures, and craniotomy/neurosurgery procedures. Candidates should possess strong surgical anticipatory skills, communication, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work collaboratively. Preferred qualifications include experience with spine and neurosurgery instruments and CNOR certification. Floating may occur between areas as needed. Overtime should be anticipated, which may include staying longer to complete a case.
