Position Overview

The Department of Neurology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson, in collaboration with Banner - University Medicine Tucson, seeks a Board Certified/Board Eligible Neurologist to join our esteemed clinical faculty.

This position offers the opportunity to practice general neurology or develop a focused subspecialty practice, based on training and interests. Areas of particular interest include General, Movement Disorders, Headache, Pediatric Neurology, Behavioral, and Neuromuscular.

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive neurological care to a diverse patient population while engaging in the education and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows. Opportunities for clinical research and scholarly activity are also available within a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Clinical & Academic Environment

The Department of Neurology is committed to providing comprehensive care across all areas of neurology while maintaining a strong focus on education and research. Clinical faculty are supported by:

  • State-of-the-art outpatient and inpatient facilities.
  • Collaborative subspecialty services and opportunities in epilepsy, pediatric neurology, neuromuscular medicine, stroke, headache, movement disorders, dementia, multiple sclerosis, and more, allowing physicians to tailor their clinical focus.

Research Infrastructure

The Department of Neurology houses a robust Clinical Research Unit with dedicated personnel and infrastructure to support clinical and translational research . This includes:

  • Experienced clinical coordinators and regulatory support staff
  • Infrastructure for clinical trials, including industry- and investigator-initiated studies
  • Data management and statistical support resources

This environment provides the foundation for meaningful scholarly productivity and access to novel therapeutics and emerging technologies .

Qualifications

  • MD/DO degree (or equivalent)
  • Board Certification or Eligibility in Neurology
  • Eligibility for an Arizona medical license
  • Interest in academic teaching and/or clinical research
