Software Engineer, AI Products

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship full-stack web application features spanning backend services, APIs, and frontend interfaces.
• Prototype with emerging model capabilities and translate research results into product experiences.
• Take product ideas from rough concepts to live user-facing products and iterate based on feedback.
• Partner with researchers to understand model capabilities and constraints and incorporate them into product decisions.
• Collaborate with product and design partners to define product direction.
• Own technical architecture, including scalability, reliability, and maintainability decisions.
• Help establish engineering practices and technical standards for the product engineering team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with ownership across frontend and backend systems.
• Demonstrated ability to ship production web applications end to end, from data model and API design through user-facing interfaces.
• Ability to work effectively in ambiguous and fast-changing environments and make pragmatic technical tradeoffs.
• Preferred experience building products on large language models or other frontier AI systems.
• Preferred strong product sense and experience determining what to build.
• Preferred experience as an early or founding engineer or leading a product from 0 to 1.
• Preferred familiarity with modern frontend frameworks and interface design and usability.
• Preferred experience with distributed systems, infrastructure, or backend performance at scale.
• Preferred experience collaborating with researchers, designers, and other non-engineering partners.
