Job Details:

• Weekday shift hours: 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM
• Weekend shift hours: 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM
• Every other weekend rotation required
• No on-call responsibilities
• 2 major holidays out of 4 required, or every other holiday
• Orientation consists of two 12-hour shifts on the unit
• 3 years of emergency department experience in a fast-paced facility required
• Patient population ranges from neonates to geriatrics with all ED diagnoses
• Heavy mental health patient population
• Trauma cases include gunshot wounds, stabbings, falls, and motor vehicle collisions
• Invasive neuro and STEMI cases stabilized and transferred to another facility
• Patient ratios: 1:4 acuity-based for day and night shifts; 1:6 for fast track
• Average of 168 patients seen per day across 35 beds and 6 fast track rooms
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
• Required skills include cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV skills, critical care drip and medication administration, NIHSS experience, TPA administration, blood administration, procedural sedation, and code blue experience
• Triage experience strongly preferred
• Charting and equipment systems used: EPIC, Alaris, and Pyxis
• Support staff available 24/7 including unit secretary, ED techs, charge nurse, phlebotomy, respiratory therapy, ED physicians, mid-level providers, and security
• Central and bedside telemetry monitoring available
• Scrub color: any color, professional attire required
• Free parking available in designated employee areas

Facility:

This facility is a Level IV Trauma Center and Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Center with 228 beds, featuring a dedicated emergency department with 35 beds and 6 fast track rooms. The facility also holds designations as a Level III NICU, a teaching hospital, and a Geriatric Accredited Center. The emergency department is supported around the clock by physicians, mid-level providers, respiratory therapy, and a full complement of ancillary staff, providing comprehensive care for a wide range of emergent and critical patient needs.
