Qualifications Substitute Teachers Must hold a New Jersey Teaching Certificate, or have at least 60 college credits which would qualify the candidate to obtain a Substitute Certificate. Substitute Nurses Must hold or obtain a New Jersey Nurse Certificate, or School Nurse Substitute Certificate. Substitute Instructional Aides / Substitute Secretaries Must hold a High School Diploma. Substitute Custodians Experience is a plus. Substitute Bus Drivers Must be at least 18 years old and have a clean driving record. Must be able to pass a D.O.T. mandatory physical every 2 years. Must pass a Criminal History Background Check. We supply Motor Vehicle book to study for your test for your class B License, Passenger, School Bus and Airbrake endorsements to get your permit. After you obtain your permit, we will provide paid training and take you for the road test.
