What You'll Be Doing This role is built for very experienced structural steel connectors who understand the pace, pressure, and responsibility of erection work— and for lead connectors who can set the standard for the crew. You will: Connect and bolt structural steel safely, accurately, and efficiently at height. Safely help drive production, with the ability to handle 80-100 pieces per day when job conditions support that pace. Signal and communicate with crane operators clearly and effectively by hand signal and radio in English to support safe, coordinated picks. Read steel, tree iron, and move confidently and safely on the structure at any working height. Land beams, columns, joists, decking, and miscellaneous steel with control and precision. Perform bolt-up, alignment, plumbing, and final connection work to a high standard. Read structural drawings and erection plans confidently and apply them in the field. Use proper rigging practices and maintain strong situational awareness at all times. Follow all OSHA, site, and fall-protection requirements without compromise. Lead by example, support the crew, and help teach and develop trailing connectors. Every connection matters. Every pick requires trust. Every day, your crew depends on you. You'll thrive here if you: Have outstanding, hands‑on connecting experience in structural steel erection. Can work confidently and safely at height with no issues navigating the steel. Understand how to read iron, tree iron, and stay productive in demanding field conditions. Communicate clearly with crane operators and the crew during critical picks. Take pride in clean, accurate, production‑minded work done the safe way. Lead from the front and are willing to teach and develop trailing connectors. What You Need 5+ years of structural steel connecting experience preferred, with strong lead‑connector experience highly valued. Proven ability to connect structural steel safely and efficiently at height. Ability to safely support production goals of 80-100 pieces per day when job conditions allow. Ability to safely and effectively signal and radio crane operators in English. Strong knowledge of bolt‑up, rigging, signaling, connecting, and erection procedures. Ability to read blueprints, erection drawings, and field conditions with confidence. Ability to read iron, tree iron, and move safely and effectively on the steel at any working height. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and fall‑protection systems. Physical ability to climb, lift, balance, and work at heights daily. Reliable transportation to jobsites. Willingness to work overtime. Welding certifications and Journeyman Ironworker credentials are a plus.
