Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Valid CDL with school bus and passenger endorsements (or willingness to obtain) Ability to pass required background checks and physical examinations Annual Department of Transportation Medical Examiners’ Certificate Strong communication and interpersonal skills Experience working with children is preferred A commitment to safety, reliability, and professionalism Duties and Responsibilities Safely operate a school bus on regular or special routes as assigned Follow established routes and schedules in a timely and responsible manner Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and readiness Maintain appropriate student conduct and ensure student safety on the bus Build positive and respectful relationships with students, families, and staff Communicate effectively with school personnel, students, and families as needed Report any safety concerns, incidents, or mechanical issues promptly Follow all applicable federal, state, and local transportation regulations Duty Days As needed on student contact days through May 30, 2026 Compensation Potential for additional pay based on trip type and duration Location United Elementary – 1284 U Ave., Boone, IA 50036 #J-18808-Ljbffr
