Customer Relations Specialist (Temporary)

Pay: $19.50/hour

Location: Boynton Beach, FL

Type: Temporary

Do you enjoy helping people and solving problems? We're hiring a Customer Relations Specialist to be the first point of contact for utility customers, by phone and at the front counter. You'll answer billing questions, set up accounts, and get service issues to the right people.

What you'll do

• Greet and assist customers by phone, email, and in person
• Answer questions about bills, payments, balances, and water usage
• Set up new service accounts and process deposits
• Research accounts and update customer records in the billing system
• Create work orders and dispatch field crews for leaks and other service issues
• Help residents with trash and sanitation questions, including pickup days
• Handle filing, scanning, mail, and customer correspondence

What you'll need

• 4 years of customer service or call center experience
• Strong phone and communication skills
• Comfort with computers, multi-line phones, and standard office equipment
• A calm, professional approach in a busy setting with frequent interruptions
• Accurate data entry and good attention to detail
• A valid Florida driver's license (or the ability to get one within 14 days of hire)

Nice to have

• Utility billing experience
• Experience with Central Square CIS or a meter reading database
• An associate's degree in business, public administration, communications, or a related field

Work environment
Office-based, mostly at a desk and computer, with occasional light lifting (up to 10 lbs).
