Associate Director, Technical Product Manager

Merck seeks an Associate Director of Technical Product Management to own the lifecycle strategy and digital product portfolio for Environmental, Health, and Safety systems across global manufacturing operations. The role combines product management, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional leadership within a modernizing digital manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Own full lifecycle of global EHS digital products from discovery through deployment and ongoing optimization
- Define and maintain multi-year EHS product roadmap aligned with business objectives and digital manufacturing strategy
- Drive discovery with site safety leads and engineers to translate operational needs into prioritized product backlogs
- Lead cross-functional projects and programs to completion on time, on schedule, and within budget
- Build strategic relationships across leadership, plant management, quality operations, IT, and enterprise architecture to ensure compliance
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Computer Science, or related field
- 12+ years project/program management experience and 5+ years with business stakeholders in matrixed enterprises
- Manufacturing plant floor, capital project, or site operations experience with proven EHS functional knowledge
- Understanding of SDLC governance, change control, and life sciences regulatory compliance (GMP, GxP, 21 CFR Part 11)
- Direct hands-on experience with enterprise EHS platforms (Enablon, Sphera, Intelex, Cority, Velocity EHS, or ePAS)
- Proficiency with project management tools (P6, MS Project, ServiceNow, SmartSheet) and emerging technologies (AI platforms, PowerBI)
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, build consensus with executives, and apply LEAN principles
Compensation: $142,400.00 - $224,100.00 base
