This position promotes the company's residential waste, recycling, and related environmental services while building strong customer relationships and delivering exceptional customer experiences.The ideal candidate is self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working independently in the field. Success in this role requires professionalism, resilience, emotional intelligence, strong communication skills, and the ability to consistently achieve sales goals while representing the company with integrity.Essential Job ResponsibilitiesProspect neighborhoods and residential communities within assigned territories.Generate new residential waste and recycling service agreements through door-to-door sales.Explain service offerings, pricing, billing, and collection schedules.Educate prospective customers on available service options, recycling programs, and value-added services.Complete customer enrollment accurately using company-approved technology.Maintain detailed records of daily sales activities and customer interactions in the CRM system.Follow up with prospective customers to close sales opportunities.Participate in neighborhood canvassing, community events, and promotional campaigns.Build relationships with homeowners, property managers, and homeowners' associations (HOAs).Maintain knowledge of competitor pricing and market conditions.Represent the company professionally and ethically at all times.Attend required sales meetings, training sessions, and coaching activities.Comply with all company safety policies, driving requirements, and code of conduct.Assist with customer retention efforts by resolving concerns and coordinating with customer service when appropriate.Meet or exceed all assigned KPI's in sales, activity, and quality metrics.Conduct customer retention visits for residential customers in jeopardy of cancellation and/or with expiring agreements.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required.Previous sales, customer service, or canvassing experience preferred.Door-to-door sales experience is highly desirable.Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.Strong negotiation and closing abilities.Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.Ability to walk several miles per day.Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record (if travel is required).Reliable transportation to assigned territories.Basic computer, tablet, and smartphone proficiency.Ability to pass pre-employment background screening and drug testing, where permitted by law.Preferred QualificationsExperience in waste, recycling, utilities, telecommunications, solar, security, or home services sales.Experience using CRM software.Bilingual language skills are a plus.Established knowledge of the local residential market.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong customer service orientation.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Effective time management and organizational abilities.Ability to overcome objections professionally.Self-motivated with minimal supervision.Strong problem-solving skills.Ability to build trust quickly with prospective customers.High level of integrity and professionalism.Adaptability in a fast-paced sales environment.Ability to work evenings and weekends as business needs require.Physical RequirementsWalk 5–10 miles per day.Stand for extended periods.Frequently climb stairs and navigate residential neighborhoods.Lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity.Operate a smartphone, tablet, and other mobile devices throughout the workday.Work EnvironmentPrimarily outdoor field-based position.Extensive neighborhood canvassing.Frequent interaction with homeowners and residents.Flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and community events.Performance ExpectationsNew residential accounts acquiredMonthly recurring revenue generatedSales conversion rateCustomer retentionCRM activity completionCustomer satisfactionAttendance and reliabilityCompliance with company policies and safety standardsCore CompetenciesCustomer FocusAccountabilityIntegrityCommunicationInitiativeTeamworkAdaptabilityResults OrientationProfessionalismContinuous ImprovementAcknowledgmentThis job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees in this position.
