Senior Backend Engineer

Overview: Senior Backend Engineer Location: Plano, TX (Hybrid - 2-3 days onsite per week) Duration: 6 months with potential to convert at 3 months Client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our team on a contract-to-hire basis. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, consumer-facing environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize backend services for high-volume platforms.
- Build and maintain scalable systems using Node.js and PostgreSQL (or equivalent relational databases).
- Write, debug, and optimize complex SQL queries for large datasets.
- Leverage AI tools in day-to-day engineering workflows to improve productivity and innovation.
- Architect distributed systems with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and infrastructure as code.
- Work with cloud environments (Google Cloud or AWS) to deploy and manage backend services.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
- 8+ years of backend software engineering experience.
- Strong expertise in Node.js and PostgreSQL .
- Advanced SQL skills with proven ability to handle complex queries.
- Demonstrated fluency with AI tools in engineering workflows.
- Experience building and scaling consumer-facing platforms.
- Solid understanding of backend architecture, distributed systems, and scalability principles.
- Hands-on experience with DevOps practices and cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud or AWS).
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a self-driven, ownership mentality.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
