Up to 10%, domestic or international travel is required./ph3The Role/h3pWe are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our US Accounting Team. As a Staff Accountant, youll be part of a cross-functional team whose mission is to lead IonQ on its journey to build the worlds best quantum computers to solve the worlds most complex problems./ppIn this role, you will be responsible for preparing month-end close journal entries and reconciliations. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional who ensures the accuracy of our financial data while identifying opportunities to streamline our internal controls and reporting./ph3Responsibilities/h3pMonth-End Close Financial Reporting/pulliJournal Entry Preparation: Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including complex payroll accruals for both US and international entities./liliGeneral Ledger Maintenance: Manage and reconcile monthly activity for Fixed Assets, Prepaid Expenses, and various Accruals to ensure accuracy and GAAP compliance./liliVendor Management Accruals: Proactively communicate with vendors and internal department heads to estimate unbilled expenses and ensure all monthly liabilities are accurately accrued./liliInterdepartmental Collaboration: Partner with the Payroll and Equity teams to gather data and record RSU-related transactions and stock-based compensation activity./li/ulpCash Management Reconciliations/pulliDaily Operations: Perform daily cash coding and monitoring to ensure all transactions are categorized accurately within the ERP, NetSuite./liliBank Reconciliations: Complete monthly bank reconciliations for all corporate accounts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner./liliAccount Analysis: Perform comprehensive monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all accounts are fully supported by underlying documentation./li/ulpAudit Compliance/pulliAudit Support: Serve as a contact for external auditors during the year-end audit, preparing necessary schedules and providing supporting documentation (PBC list items)./liliInternal Controls: Maintain documentation of accounting processes to support internal control objectives./li/ulh3Requirements/h3ulliBS/BA in Accounting or Finance/lili1-3 years of professional experience/liliStrong analytical and organizational and presentation skills/liliExcellent verbal and written communication skills/liliAbility to manage deadline requirements and multi-task projects/liliHigh competency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint/liliDetail-oriented, self-motivated with the ability to meet project deadlines and deliverables in a fast-paced environment/li/ulh3Preferred Qualifications/h3ulliExperience with a Big Four accounting firm or other national accounting firm is preferred/liliExperience with NetSuite ERP/liliExperience working with Dayforce or Papaya/liliKnowledge of accruals processes/liliStrong desire and ability to develop new skills quickly in a fast-paced, high-volume environment to continuously improve processes/liliWillingness to take on challenges and think constructively to solve problems/li/ulpThe approximate base salary range for this position is $73,439 - $95,767. The total compensation package includes base, bonus, equity, and a range of benefit options found on our career site./ppCompensation will vary based on individual factors such as education, qualifications, and experience of the final candidate(s), specific office location, and calibration against relevant market data and internal team equity. Posted base salary figures are subject to change as new market data becomes available.
