Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a MS/Tele Float Pool position at a short-term acute care hospital in Missouri, requiring at least 2 years of MS/tele experience and the ability to float across multiple medical units on night shifts.

Details

• Night shift position working 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
• Float pool role covering medical, surgical, oncology, neuro, cardiology, and renal units
• Patient ratios of 1:5–6 on days/weekends and 1:6 on nights
• Float pool workers call in to a recorded line up to 1 hour before shift start to receive their unit assignment; pre-assignment to a specific unit for a portion of the contract is possible and will be communicated in advance
• Every other weekend required, or a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (Saturday and Sunday), plus holiday rotation
• No on-call requirements
• Charting system: Epic (experience required)
• Lift devices (training provided), ceiling lifts, and bladder scanner are used on the unit
• Free parking available
• Scrub color: Navy Blue

Requirements

• Active MO RN license or Compact RN license (with permanent residence in the compact state) required; may submit without MO license in hand
• Minimum 2 years of MS/tele RN experience required — this is a hard requirement
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, IV start competency, and telemetry interpretation
• NIHSS certification preferred
• IV therapy, peripheral and central line care/management, and phlebotomy skills required
• Cardiac monitoring skills including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Must be able to operate lift devices, ceiling lifts, and bladder scanner

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
• All RTO must be finalized prior to consideration; no RTO changes will be accepted after that point
• Candidates who have previously worked as permanent employees at any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers may work at this facility for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required before returning
• Pre-start orientation modules are required and must be completed two Fridays prior to the start date
• Fit testing is required; candidates must be clean-shaven or have facial hair compatible with proper respirator fit testing — no exceptions
• Block scheduling is not available for this position
• Candidates who cancel a signed BJC contract must complete an assignment elsewhere before being considered for another BJC opportunity
