Job Summary

Telemetry nursing position supporting an acute care unit caring for orthopedic, medical-surgical, and inpatient rehabilitation patients. The role provides comprehensive nursing care for patients with conditions including joint replacements, cerebrovascular accidents, encephalopathy, and lumbar fusions.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and at least 2 years of nursing experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Orthopedic experience; telemetry experience; proficiency with intravenous therapy, Foley catheter care, and dressing changes.
• Schedule: Night shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: Patient assignments typically range from 1:4 for medical-surgical patients to 1:6 for inpatient rehabilitation patients, based on patient acuity. The role includes caring for orthopedic, medical-surgical, telemetry, and inpatient rehabilitation patients; reviewing cardiac rhythm strips; assisting with activities of daily living, vital signs, catheter care, and dressing changes; and collaborating with respiratory therapy for nebulizer treatments and continuous positive airway pressure setup. Every other weekend is required, and holidays are rotated. Unit orientation includes three classroom days followed by two precepted shifts.
