Surgical Technologist

East Portland Surgery Center is one of Portland’s leading multi-specialty surgery centers, performing cases in pain management, GI, general surgery, orthopedics, urology, plastics, ophthalmology, gynecology, ENT & Spine. Our facility is accredited by Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). We have a PRN opening for a full time Surgical Technologist. Job Summary The Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team. Maintains a sterile field during surgical procedures. Prepares supplies, instruments, and equipment related to these procedures. Supports the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center. Supports and participates in quality improvement activities. Monday-Friday daytime work schedule NO call required NO Nights, NO Weekends, NO Holiday work hours Required Skills High School Diploma or GED Completion of a Surgical Technician Program and/or equivalent combination of education and experience Certification required 1+ years experience working as a Surgical Technician with multiple types of procedures Experience in an ambulatory surgical center is strongly preferred Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed Must excel in teamwork and possess strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff, engage with patients, and coordinate with physicians BLS accredited by AHA required Who We Are At USPI, we create relationships that create better care.
