Patient Service Specialist - Green Mountain Family Practice

Job Description Under the supervision of the Medical Group Practice Manager, the Patient Service Specialist provides medical administrative support to the entire patient care team and gathers and processes information needed for billing of all office charges and coordination of care. The Specialist maintains absolute confidentiality of all patients’ records, medical treatment and diagnosis and abides by all policies and procedures of the practice. The role supports the entire Medical Group, including covering other practices as needed. Employees are expected to remain a positive influence in the office and contribute suggestions to improve internal processes. Education High school diploma or equivalent required College coursework in business or medical sciences preferred Prior exposure to Microsoft Windows such as Outlook and Word required Keyboarding skills in excess of 50 WPM essential Must be able to operate standard office equipment such as a fax machine, copier and scanner Competent writing and editing skills, including sound grammar, spelling, punctuation and basic math competency required Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work with frequent interruptions required Customer service orientation and effective communication and listening skills required Experience 2-4 years in a similar office administrative position preferred Previous medical office experience or completion of a medical terminology course preferred Prior experience with computers required Demonstrated experience in effective customer service required Benefits At Central Vermont Medical Center, employees receive a comprehensive, total compensation package that includes salary, health and wellness benefits, paid time off and more. #J-18808-Ljbffr
