Key Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, delivering competent and comprehensive nursing care.
• Obtains and monitors physiological data, observes patient manifestations, and intervenes as necessary.
• Administers medications as prescribed; initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; notes all changes in physician orders.
• Interacts with patients and families to share the care plan during hospitalization and at time of discharge, including education on hospital procedures.
• Delegates tasks to support staff and makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience.
• Knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures; strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a board-approved program.
• Experience in a cardiac or stepdown unit setting.
