Cloud Security Engineer

Tektend LLC is seeking a skilled Cloud Security Engineer to join our expanding technical operations team in Austin, TX on a hybrid basis. In this role, you will partner with DevOps, platform engineering, and security leadership to design, automate, and sustain robust security architectures across our cloud-native environments.Key Responsibilities:Architect, implement, and monitor robust security controls and guardrails across AWS cloud environments.Automate security scanning (SAST, DAST, SCA) and compliance checks within enterprise CI/CD deployment pipelines.Audit, optimize, and enforce least-privilege Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies and role configurations.Assess and enhance container and orchestration security across Docker and Kubernetes workloads.Lead proactive threat detection, vulnerability remediation, and cloud incident response activities.Requirements:3+ years of dedicated experience securing multi-tenant AWS cloud architectures.Demonstrated experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation to automate security baselines.Working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Go for security automation.Familiarity with industry security frameworks and standards, such as CIS Benchmarks, NIST, and SOC 2.Relevant professional certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security - Specialty, CCSP, or CISSP) are strongly preferred.Ability to commute to our Austin, TX office under a hybrid working model.
