Fraud Analyst – Financial Exploitation
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Pay Rate: $17–$20/hour on W2
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3+ days onsite
Locations: Minneapolis, MN or Charlotte, NC
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Fraud Analyst to support investigations involving potential financial exploitation of elderly and vulnerable adults. In this role, you will review customer and account information, analyze alerts and transaction activity, document investigation findings, and coordinate with internal teams and external agencies when necessary.
This position is ideal for someone with experience in fraud investigations, financial services, case management, transaction review, customer account analysis, or compliance-related work who is comfortable working independently and handling sensitive information with a high level of accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Review customer and account data, alerts, spreadsheets, and case notes to identify potential financial exploitation or suspicious activity.
- Analyze account activity and available information to determine whether a customer may be the victim of elder or vulnerable adult financial exploitation.
- Conduct research and gather additional information from internal teams and business partners as needed.
- Clearly document investigation findings, actions taken, and supporting information in case management systems and tracking spreadsheets.
- Prepare and submit reports to appropriate Adult Protective Services agencies or law enforcement when required.
- Communicate professionally with internal partners, government agencies, and law enforcement by phone and other communication channels.
- Maintain accurate and organized case records and ensure required documentation is complete.
- Manage multiple cases and daily assignments while meeting productivity and quality expectations.
- Follow established procedures while exercising sound judgment when reviewing individual cases.
- Protect confidential customer and account information throughout the investigation process.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify important information within spreadsheets, alerts, and case notes.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently while managing changing daily workloads.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong professional phone etiquette and ability to communicate clearly with internal and external parties.
- Strong documentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret data, identify inconsistencies, and resolve exceptions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and other spreadsheet-based tools.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally.

- Fraud investigation or fraud analysis

- Transaction monitoring
- Account review or suspicious activity investigation
- Financial crimes or compliance
- Case management
- Claims or investigative work
- Customer account support involving escalations
- Communication with government agencies or law enforcement
- Elder or vulnerable adult financial exploitation
