Offering $150,000 per year, negotiable based on experience and relevant credentials, with potential additional variable compensation, this opportunity provides access to a strong support structure, modern clinical resources, and comprehensive benefits. The veterinarian will work alongside an established team of five doctors, seven Registered Veterinary Technicians, and additional experienced support staff, providing a highly collaborative environment for managing a diverse caseload. Patients primarily include dogs, cats, and rabbits, providing additional clinical variety for veterinarians interested in working beyond traditional canine and feline general practice. About the Practice This established companion animal practice provides comprehensive veterinary care supported by a large and experienced clinical team. The hospital features a large surgical suite, dedicated dental wet table, ultrasound, in-house diagnostics, hands-free radiology, grooming and boarding facilities, providing veterinarians with extensive resources for medical, surgical, and dental case management. The practice incorporates Fear-Free principles and Fear-Free Certified team members where possible, supporting low-stress patient handling and a more comfortable veterinary experience. The team also offers acupuncture, providing exposure to complementary treatment options alongside traditional veterinary medicine. A shared doctors' office encourages communication and collaboration between veterinarians, while the experienced technician team provides strong day-to-day clinical support. Practice operating hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00am–7:00pm; Saturday, 8:00am–2:00pm; and closed Sundays. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive veterinary care for dogs, cats, and rabbits Perform wellness and preventive examinations Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions Develop individualized diagnostic and treatment plans Perform routine general surgical procedures Provide comprehensive veterinary dental care Utilize ultrasound and in-house diagnostic capabilities Interpret laboratory and diagnostic imaging results Utilize hands-free radiology techniques Provide safe anesthesia and perioperative patient management Manage appropriate rabbit cases within clinical competency Incorporate complementary treatment options where appropriate and qualified Apply Fear-Free and low-stress handling principles Educate clients on preventive healthcare and treatment recommendations Communicate diagnoses, treatment options, and prognoses clearly Build trusted, long-term client relationships Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records Collaborate closely with veterinarians, RVTs, and support staff Maintain high standards of veterinary medicine and professional ethics Participate in continuing education and professional development Candidate Profile Candidates must hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent from an accredited university. Applicants must possess, or be able to obtain, California veterinary licensure in good standing. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to high-quality veterinary medicine, compassionate patient care, teamwork, and professional ethics. Strong communication, collaboration, empathy, and clinical judgment are important for success within this established multi-doctor environment. Experience treating rabbits or providing acupuncture would be beneficial but is not stated as a requirement.
