Motivated, caring professionals are encouraged to join us.Career Opportunity: Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada (CCCN) is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) who works collaboratively with physicians, is responsible for providing comprehensive care, and who demonstrates a high degree of clinical expertise in working with patients with oncologic and hematologic conditions. This position will be located at our Stephanie clinic, located in the Henderson, NV area. The APP (either APRN or PA) provides care within his/her scope of practice as outlined by applicable state law, licensing, regulations, and institutional policy and practice agreements.Scope:Under supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, involved in the care of individuals, families, and patient groups who are dealing with cancer or other related diagnosis. This care may be in clinic or virtually, via telemedicine. Responsibilities may include duties related to prevention, screening, patient care, management, and research. May serve as direct caregiver, health care consultant, patient educator, administrator, or researcher. Ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and requirements. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.ResponsibilitiesUS ONCOLOGY ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for individual patientsInitiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response within practice protocol; prescribes drug therapies per protocol/physician consultationAssists physicians and performs procedures as neededAssesses patient/family needs and provides educationPromotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needsIncorporates evidence-based research into clinical practiceKnowledgeable of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirementsCompletes patient charge ticketsProvides case management for oncology clients and their familiesServes as a resource person for the nursing staff by providing information being studied in clinical trialsMay supervise the activities of clinical nursingCCCN ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Conducts comprehensive or episodic health history and physical assessment of oncology/hematology patients with acute, chronic, and/or potential health problemsCommunicate and collaborate effectively with physicians, other health professionals, and health-related agenciesOversee treatment infusions and supportive care needsWrite specific orders within the limits of the practice agreement/scope of practice including chemotherapyFollow ethical principles regarding patient confidentiality, informed consent, and unanticipated adverse outcomesMaintain clinical documentation according to practice guidelines and standardsParticipate in education of students, new APPs, and other health care professionalsParticipate in organizational and departmental meetings, educational opportunities, committees, and workgroups as necessaryActive engagement and promotion of CCCN research programQualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:APRN: Successful completion of Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited programNationally certified as AGNP, ANP, FNP, AGNP, or GNPActive State of Nevada Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and Registered Nurse (RN) licensePA-C: Successful completion of a course of training in residence as a physician assistant approved by one of the following entities affiliated with the American Medical Association or its successor organization:The Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or its successor organizationThe Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program or its successor organizationThe Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistants or its successor organizationCertified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants or its successor organizationPREFERABLE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:Two or more years of clinical experience in outpatient oncology setting as an APPAOCNP certification (Once eligible, obtainment of AOCNP certification required)PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
