The Principal Financial Analyst will work from the Medtronic Operational HQ facility in Fridley, MN and may travel up to 10% of the time to enhance collaboration and ensure project success. The Principal Financial Analyst serves as a key financial leader supporting a portfolio of strategic GO&SC initiatives totaling approximately $0.7 B in active investments. The role drives financial planning, forecasting, governance, and performance management from project inception through closeout. Partnering closely with project managers and cross‑functional leaders, this position shapes investment decisions, delivers actionable financial insights, mitigates risks, champions financial accountability, and ensures projects achieve targeted business outcomes. Responsibilities Partner directly with strategic project managers to identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks and opportunities, quantify business impacts, and drive projects to successful execution and value realization. Influence key business decisions by delivering actionable financial insights, developing robust business cases, validating savings opportunities, and ensuring alignment with financial policies and objectives. Lead continuous improvement initiatives that streamline reporting, enhance financial transparency, and increase focus on value‑creating activities across the project portfolio. Own and execute month‑end financial processes, including WBS and cost‑center management, expense reclassifications, financial reconciliations, consolidation activities, and SAP/Planisware data integrity reviews. Drive annual strategic planning, capital prioritization, budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance tracking to support organizational goals and investment decisions. Develop and deliver clear, compelling financial presentations and executive‑level insights for Monthly Financial Reviews, Quarterly Business Reviews, and program governance forums. Collaborate across Manufacturing Platforms, Enterprise Operations FP&A, and Strategy & Technology teams to ensure financial alignment, accountability, and execution of approximately $700 M in strategic initiatives. Establish disciplined governance, standard reporting practices, and performance metrics that improve predictability, accountability, and transparency across the project portfolio. Minimum Requirements 7+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience with an advanced degree Preferred Qualifications Strongly Preferred: Collaborator with excellent verbal and written communication skills Strongly Preferred: Comfort with ambiguity and change management Strongly Preferred: Active team member that will implement change, improve visibility, and drive impactful results across the GO&SC organization Strong financial modeling, analytical, and critical thinking skills including a proven ability to translate financial data into actionable insight Exposure to Operations and/or accounting for Operations Experience in navigating and working within a matrix organization Experience with Medtronic financial systems including SAP, One Stream, and Planisware Cost Accounting experience Solid accounting (GAAP), financial and business management foundation Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint Physical Job Requirements The above statements describe the general nature and level of work performed, but are not an exhaustive list. Benefits & Compensation Salary range (U.S., excl. PR): $110,400.00 – $165,600.00. This position is eligible for a short‑term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
