Press Brake Machine Set-Up Operator (2nd Shift)This role focuses on setting up, operating, and running press brake machines in a clean and organized fabrication shop on 2nd shift. You will read blueprints, load and position materials, perform multiple bends per part, and complete a variety of jobs throughout your shift using standard hand tools and shop equipment. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a machine shop environment.ResponsibilitiesSet up press brake machines for production, including selecting and installing tooling, adjusting settings, and preparing materials according to job specifications.Operate press brake equipment safely and efficiently to form sheet metal parts with 1 to 10 bends per part as required.Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions to ensure accurate dimensions, tolerances, and part quality.Load, position, and secure materials in the press brake, punch press, shear, and related equipment as needed.Run multiple jobs throughout the shift, managing workflow and prioritizing tasks to meet production schedules.Use hand tools and measuring instruments to verify dimensions, perform minor adjustments, and complete each job to specification.Troubleshoot basic machine and tooling issues, making adjustments to improve quality and efficiency.Perform machine set-up and changeovers between jobs, including brake press and shear/brake press operations.Monitor equipment during operation to identify potential problems and maintain consistent part quality.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in the fabrication shop, following all safety procedures and guidelines.Essential SkillsProven experience operating press brake machines in a fabrication or machine shop environment.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings with strong mechanical aptitude.Hands-on experience using common hand tools and shop tools to complete metal fabrication tasks.Experience with brake press set-up, including tooling selection, machine adjustments, and part positioning.Familiarity with sheet metal work and basic machine set-up procedures.Troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve routine issues with press brake and related equipment.Ability to run multiple jobs during a shift and manage parts with varying numbers of bends.Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality parts.Additional Skills & QualificationsFabrication experience in a production or job-shop setting is a plus.Experience with punch press, shear, and shear/brake press operations is beneficial.Comfort working with various sheet metal thicknesses and materials.Ability to adapt to different jobs and part requirements throughout the shift.Solid understanding of basic safety practices in a fabrication or machine shop environment.Why Work Here?Employees benefit from performance-based attendance bonuses and participation in an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), creating a strong sense of shared success and long-term financial opportunity. You will work on 2nd shift, typically from 3:30 pm to 11:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with some overtime as needed. The environment includes press brake machines, punch presses, shears, and standard hand tools used for sheet metal fabrication and machine set-up.
