School Nurse Position

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care and health services to students within the BOCES program.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to address students' health needs.
• Collaborate with mental health agencies (psychiatric nurse practitioners and clinicians) embedded within the educational program to meet students' needs as a whole.
• Conduct health assessments, screenings, and immunization checks.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid when necessary.
• Maintain accurate health records for students.
• Educate students and staff on health-related topics.
• Contribute to the development of IEPs and participate in CSE meetings for students as necessary.
• Coordinate with local health departments and community resources.
• Support students with chronic health conditions and disabilities.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal health regulations.
