Job Description OverviewAnsible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting for a Primary Care Physician to provide onsite services to eligible beneficiaries of the Beaumont VA Clinic located at 3420 Plaza Cr, Beaumont, TX 77707. Shift scheduling is generally Mon-Fri, 8:00 am-4:30 pm with no call or holidays. The Physician may be requested to work up to four (4) Saturdays per year. To address these challenges, we employ intelligent and committed staff who take care of our customers success as if it is their own.ResponsibilitiesPrimary care as appropriate and within the scope of practice/privilegingProvides services supporting a continuum of care from prevention to diagnosis and treatment to appropriate referral and follow-up for simple to moderately-complex workload that can be appropriately managed in a primary care outpatient environmentComprehensive primary care services, including women s health to a defined panel of patientsWorks with clinic staff to schedule new and follow-up patientsTakes history, performs physical examinations, orders labs and diagnostic studies, completes diagnosis and formulation of treatment plans for acute and chronic conditions within the scope of practice/privilegingOrders and monitors appropriate medications for patients using VA Formulary; queries State Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs (PDMPs) before prescribing controlled substances per VHA Directive 1306 Querying State Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs (PDMP); also obtains IMED consents before prescribing or dispensing medications requiring consent including prescriptions for controlled substancesMaintains familiarity with VA Formulary and uses the computer system as needed for efficient practiceRefers patients to specialty care services as appropriate, admission to hospital care when indicated, and patient education and counselingCompletes all patient documentation promptly utilizing the CPRS systemProvides consultation with and instruction to referring physicians regarding appropriate indications for procedures so that the most expeditious and clinically relevant workup can be completedDetermines the proper course of treatment and communicates in person or by phone with the referring cliniciansInitiates appropriate social work referrals for all identified homeless personsFollows all established medication policies and procedures; no sample medications shall be provided to patientsQualificationsBoard Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family MedicineActive, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of ColumbiaNPI report printoutActive DEA licenseHas and maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationMust be able to pass a federal background investigationNo sponsorship availableAll candidates must be able to:Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shiftLift up to 50 lbs from floor to waistLift up to 20 lbsCarry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distancePush/pull with 30 lbs of forceAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
