Camp Wildcat Counselor (Adjunct)

USNH Employees should apply within Workday through the Jobs Hub appResponsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of children enrolled in the Campus Recreation Department’s 8-week summer camp program, June 15th- August 19th, 2026 (dates include training weeks).Duties/ResponsibilitiesParticipant Safety and Supervision (60%) : Maintains constant surveillance of youth participants; working to ensure their safety and well-being. Implements Campus Recreation risk management procedures. Provides routine and/or emergency care and treatment as needed until the arrival of emergency medical personnel (if necessary), including incident and accident reports.Program Planning and Activity Implementation (10%) : Prepares and implements creative and innovative activities for youth participants.Program Operations Support (15%) : Performs various duties as directed to assist in the daily operation of youth programs, including early drop-off/late pick-up, attendance, etc.Staff Development and Collaboration (10%) : Attends and participates in monthly staff meetings and pre-program training sessions.Administrative Tasks (5%): Completes incident and accident reports as required.Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma.Previous experience working with youth in grades K- 8.Employment contingent of the successful completion of a background check and the following training: USNH Protection of Minors, ‘CPR, AED & First-Aid’, Bloodborne Pathogens, Food Handling, and Risk Management training.Strong Supervision and Safety Awareness : Ability to maintain constant vigilance and ensure the safety and well-being of youth participants in a variety of settings.Program Implementation and Creativity : Knowledge of planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities while fostering a fun and inclusive environment.Risk Management and Emergency Response Skills : Familiarity with risk management procedures, with the ability to respond effectively to routine and emergency situations, including administering basic first aid.Effective Communication and Team Collaboration : Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with participants, parents, and colleagues, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.Applicant InstructionsApplicants should be prepared to upload the following documents when applying online within the Resume/Cover Letter section of your application:Resume/CVCover LetterCompensation Pay Range:$18/hourThe University of New Hampshire is committed to providing a safe environment for all persons, including but not limited to children, and to prevent and respond to abuse, neglect and crimes against children.
