This role requires experience in a clinical setting, particularly in emergency care. The nurse will work 3 shifts of 12 hours each, from 07:30 to 20:00. The average daily census is 140 patients with a patient ratio of 1:4, up to 5 with lower acuity patients. The patient age group includes all ranges from neonates to geriatrics. Common diagnoses include chest pain, stroke, sepsis, cardiac arrest, trauma, and respiratory illness. Special equipment used in this unit includes Belmont for trauma, Giraffe warmer for neonates, Rapid infuser, and Lucas for cardiac arrests. The nurse will be required to float within the specialty as needed. Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, PALS, CPI, and TNCC. Previous charge experience is preferred.
