Protech is seeking experienced  Manufacturing Maintenance Technicians to support a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing operation in Athens, GA. This position is ideal for mechanically and electrically skilled professionals who thrive in a hands-on environment and are capable of troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining industrial equipment with a strong sense of urgency and safety awareness.

The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting abilities, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work independently while supporting production uptime and operational efficiency in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. Pay and Schedule

Pay Rate: Starting $24

Additional Compensation:

• $300 Bi-Weekly Attendance Bonus

Schedule

This facility operates on a rotating 12-hour schedule in a continuous 24/7 manufacturing environment. Candidates must be open to working day or night shifts with rotating days off.

Example Rotation

Week 1:

• Work Monday – Tuesday
• Off Wednesday – Thursday
• Work Friday – Sunday

Week 2:

• Off Monday – Tuesday
• Work Wednesday – Thursday
• Off Friday – Sunday

Shift Hours

• Day Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
• Night Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, dismantle, and install industrial manufacturing equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery and systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Support equipment uptime and minimize production downtime with a strong sense of urgency.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Troubleshoot PLC systems and industrial controls.
• Work with Allen Bradley controls, VFDs, relays, sensors, motor controls, and three-phase electrical systems.
• Perform equipment inspections and identify potential issues before failures occur.
• Maintain a safe work environment and follow all safety procedures and Lockout/Tagout requirements.
• Communicate effectively with production, operations, and maintenance teams.
• Provide professional internal customer service and support to plant operations.
• Work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Support overall production performance and operational efficiency.
• Promote teamwork, reliability, and continuous improvement throughout the operation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Experience troubleshooting PLC systems and Allen Bradley controls preferred.
• Hands-on experience with:
• • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)

  • Three-phase electrical systems

  • Pneumatics
• Ability to troubleshoot industrial equipment and production systems independently.
• Strong understanding of industrial safety practices and procedures.
• Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving abilities and initiative.
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to perform effectively under pressure.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Stable work history and demonstrated commitment to reliability and attendance.
