Shift Details

Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday

Shift Hours: 9:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Unit Information

Location: Manchester, NH

Number of Beds: 4 ultrasound rooms

Staffing: 14 staff members including:

• Day Shift: 4 sonographers (plus supervisor)
• Second Shift: 1 sonographer after 7:30 PM
• Night Shift: 1 sonographer

Patient Ratios: 8-10 patients per 8-hour shift

Equipment & Technology

• Ultrasound Machines: Siemens Acuson S200, GE Logiq E10
• EMR System: Allscripts
• PACS: InteleRad

Patient Population

Serving a diverse patient demographic from pediatrics to geriatrics.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Minimum of one year of experience in various ultrasound procedures.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy and pathology with ability to distinguish normal from abnormal findings.
• Basic scanning skills and understanding of sonographic physics and techniques.
• Clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting with exposure to general, vascular, and OB-GYN sonography.
• Candidates must possess the following certifications:
  
  
  • BLS
  • RDMS
  • NH MIRT Licensure

Preferred Skills:

• Additional certifications (RVT, OB-GYN, AB).
• Experience in the operating room and with ultrasound procedures.

Typical Procedures

• Thoracentesis, paracentesis, fine needle aspirations (thyroids, parotids, lymph nodes)
• Soft tissue mass or lymph node biopsies
• Liver and renal biopsies
• Drainages (abscesses, cysts, hematomas, gallbladders)
• Thrombin injections
• Operating Room: Breast needle placements, carotids, D&Cs, prostate biopsies

Dress Code

Professional, clean, and appearance-appropriate scrubs of any color or radiology-themed t-shirts are acceptable.

Additional Information

Attendance and PTO request policies must be followed, and all examination protocols need to be adhered to. Weekend shifts are covered by designated staff positions, and there is no on-call duty; a call tree is implemented for permanent full-time staff for critical staffing needs.
