Associate Attorney - General Liability - Insurance Defense

Job Overview A law firm seeks a junior to midlevel associate to join its insurance defense practice in Portland, OR. The position offers a fully remote work environment and requires strong research and drafting skills. The successful candidate will collaborate with partners and clients across Oregon and Washington, demonstrating independence and effective communication in a fast‑paced setting. Duties Defend insureds in litigation matters, including general liability, personal injury, and commercial disputes. Manage all aspects of litigated cases, including pleadings, discovery, and trials. Conduct extensive legal research and draft briefs, memos, and pleadings. Represent clients in court and depositions. Collaborate with partners and clients to provide timely coverage advice. Manage deadlines and assignments independently. Requirements Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA‑accredited law school. Active license to practice law in Oregon and/or Washington. Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred. Experience with depositions and mediations; trial experience a plus. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Professional demeanor with strong client‑relations skills. Responsive and organized, with multitasking abilities. Education / Certifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA‑accredited law school. Active license to practice law in Oregon and/or Washington. Skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
