As a member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of patients while enjoying competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and the support of a dedicated clinical team.Required Qualifications:One year of recent experience as an Oncology RNValid RN license in compliance with state regulationsCurrent BLS certification (AHA/ARC)Preferred Qualifications:Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certificationACLS (AHA/ARC) certificationOther certifications and licenses may be required for this positionSummary:The Oncology Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to cancer patients in hospital and clinical settings. This role involves administering cancer treatments, managing side effects, and providing education and emotional support to patients and families. The RN collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while adhering to professional standards of confidentiality, integrity, and safety.Essential Work Functions:Educate patients and families about oncology procedures and treatments, addressing concerns and fostering understanding to alleviate apprehensionAdminister prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved oncology nursing techniquesPrepare and maintain oncology-specific equipment assisting oncologists during treatment and examinationsMonitor and address oncology patients' comfort, safety, and side effects, implementing interventions to enhance quality of lifeAssess and monitor patients, recording conditions and reactions identifying changes and documenting conditions and responsesMaintain detailed and accurate documentation of nursing assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in the medical recordsRespond to life saving situations based upon oncology nursing standards, policies, procedures and protocolDevelop and implement individualized education plans for cancer patients and families, addressing treatment regimens, side effect management, and self-care strategiesParticipate in oncology quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and care deliveryAdvocate for oncology patients and support them in navigating complex treatment plansPerform other duties as assigned within the scope of practiceAdhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standardsRequired Essential Skills:Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skillsThe ability to read, write, and communicate in the English languageAbility to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skillsPhysical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bendInterpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalismTechnical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipmentMental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel.
