Sign on Bonus: $1500 Position Overview Are you an experienced underground utility leader looking to make a meaningful impact in sewer, water, storm drain, and utility infrastructure projects? As a Pipe Foreperson, you will supervise and coordinate crews in the installation, repair, and replacement of gravity sewer, force main, water main, storm drain, and associated utility systems. You will ensure quality workmanship, strict safety compliance, and efficient production. This is a hands‑on leadership role where your technical expertise in underground utilities and your ability to lead crews in complex trenching and pipe installation environments directly contribute to project success. Competitive pay: $26‑28 per hour, depending on experience Lead critical sewer, water, storm, and utility infrastructure projects Career growth working alongside experienced utility professionals Champion safety, accountability, and teamwork Competitive pay and benefits – we value and reward excellence Key Responsibilities Supervise, mentor, and lead crews performing sewer, water, storm drain, and underground utility installations Plan, coordinate, and assign daily work activities to meet schedule and production goals Oversee excavation, trenching, shoring, dewatering, and backfill operations in compliance with OSHA and project specifications Install and inspect PVC, ductile iron, HDPE, concrete, and steel pipe systems, including manholes, inlets, hydrants, valves, and services Set and verify pipe line, grade, and alignment using lasers, levels, and grade rods Read and interpret blueprints, utility plans, profiles, specifications, and cut sheets Coordinate with inspectors, engineers, subcontractors, and utility locators Conduct daily job hazard analyses, toolbox talks, and safety meetings Identify and troubleshoot installation issues such as grade conflicts, utility crossings, and weather or soil challenges Safely operate and oversee the operation of heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, trench boxes, compactors) Perform and document equipment inspections and ensure proper maintenance Locate, expose, and protect existing underground utilities prior to and during excavation Maintain accurate daily reports, time tracking, safety documentation, and installation records Assist with labor tasks including pipe handling, connections, testing, clean‑up, and restoration Ensure proper traffic control, barricades, fencing, and public safety measures Travel between project sites as required Qualifications Strong background in sewer, water, storm drain, and underground utility construction Working knowledge of trench safety, shoring systems, and OSHA excavation standards High school diploma or GED preferred One to two years of foreperson or lead experience in utility construction (or equivalent combination of education and experience) Ability to read and interpret utility plans, profiles, and specifications Strong organizational, leadership, and problem‑solving skills Basic math skills (grades, elevations, measurements, calculations) Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus Must pass pre‑employment background check, drug screening, and physical agility test Physical & Work Environment Requirements Frequently required to climb, balance, and perform physically demanding tasks Regularly sit, climb, signal, and operate equipment; occasionally walk, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or reach overhead Lift and move materials weighing 25‑50 lbs.
