About the Position

# Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Cardiovascular Progressive Care – North Carolina**Start Date:** August 17, 2026 **Location:** Asheville, North Carolina **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Rotating shifts (Day/Night), 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio, minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period, no call required**Highlights:** - 40-bed cardiovascular progressive care stepdown unit specializing in CV surgery, vascular surgery, and medical cardiology patients- Diverse case mix including open heart surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR), thoracic procedures (lobectomy, thoracotomy), esophagogastrectomy, AAA repair, fem-pop bypass, and carotid endarterectomies- Advanced critical care skills utilized daily: epidural management, chest tube management, cardiac drip titration, and IV glucommander- Cerner EMR system with modern equipment including Baxter IV pumps and CADD epidural pumps- Collaborative team environment with approximately 100 nursing staff members supporting a high-acuity patient population- 6-week scheduling periods with structured nurse-to-patient ratios**Requirements:** - Active North Carolina RN license or ability to obtain- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required- Stepdown and telemetry experience required- Prior cardiovascular surgery and vascular surgery population experience within the past year strongly preferred- CVICU experience preferred- Flexibility to float to other stepdown, medical-surgical, or ER inpatient holding units as needed**Why It's a Great Opportunity:** This position offers the chance to work with a complex and rewarding cardiovascular patient population in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
