Location North Shore Medical Center, Inc. Job Summary The Registered Nurse manages all aspects of the nursing process and the delivery of patient and family centered care. The RN has responsibility and authority to request and use governing and administrative resources, technological and support systems, and multidisciplinary clinical experts necessary to manage and deliver quality, cost effective patient care. RN Specialties and Additional Requirements ED – Requires BLS, Prefer ACLS/PALS. OR – Proficiency in computers, current BLS, requires 3+ years OR nursing, ability to circulate and scrub, requires call. First Assist OR – Same as OR. OR, RNFA – Must complete RNFA program meeting AORN Standards for RNFA Education Programs. PACU – Minimum 3 years critical care and/or specialty experience, ACLS and PALS certification required. ICU – ACLS certification required. Cardiac Rehab – Computer skills, 2+ years medical/surgical nursing and recent cardiac intensive nursing care, critical care education, BLS, ACLS, ANCC Cardiac Vascular Nursing Certification preferred. Med Surg – BLS and/or ACLS, 2+ years Med/Surg experience preferred. Pediatrics, Labor & Delivery – BLS, PALS, ENPC preferred for Pedi ED; NRP for Special Care Nursery; EFM certified for L&D. Minimum 2 years Pediatric or Labor and Delivery nursing experience. Pre‑Op Eval – Minimum 2 years critical care experience. Radiology – 3 years Med/Surg nursing, preferably 1 year critical care, BLS and ACLS required. Does this position require Patient Care? Qualifications & Education Nursing required or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. Registered Nurse state license required. 3+ years IV and PICC experience (preferred 3‑5 years). Certifications: CPR, PALS, ACLS, BLS upon hire for specific units; training provided for new areas.
