Records Manager

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is a district on the rise, serving over 320,000 students in 500+ schools. The Records Management Part‑time/Seasonal Employee role supports the Policy, Ethics and Records Unit in the Law Department, assisting with managing current and former student records and fulfilling records requests in line with applicable laws. Position Information Temporary position; 24 hours per week; no benefits. Primary location: Central‑42 West Madison Street (Law Office). Responsibilities Filing and organizing student records. Answering phones and responding to email inquiries. Light lifting of up to 25 pounds (e.g., case of paper records). Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent (preferred). Experience: At least 1 year of experience providing excellent customer service. At least 1 year of experience in a warehouse setting providing warehouse/clerical support (preferred). At least 1 year of data entry experience (preferred). Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong communication skills (speaking, listening, writing) and attention to detail. Strong project management and organizational skills. Effective strategic planning capabilities, including the ability to establish long‑term vision, align activities toward goal fulfillment. Ability to define problems, analyze data, and outline valid conclusions and action steps. Basic computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Google Suite.
