Black Hills Special Services Cooperative is seeking a compassionate and collaborative School Counselor to serve students within the Rapid City Area School District. In this role, you will provide comprehensive school counseling services that support students' academic achievement, career readiness, and social, emotional, and behavioral well-being. Working closely with students, families, educators, and administrators, you will help remove barriers to learning, promote student success, and foster a positive, inclusive school environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive.Black Hills Special Services Cooperative (BHSSC) is a public entity that is an educational cooperative under the State of South Dakota. BHSSC is comprised of five divisions dedicated to aiding school districts, individuals, and the communities.Work Location-Rapid City, SDWage-$56,000 - $60,000 based on experience; $1,500 sign-on bonusJob Type-Full-time, ExemptJob Description-Provide individual, small-group, and classroom counseling services that support students' academic, social, emotional, behavioral, and career development.Assist students with academic planning, course selection, career exploration, graduation planning, and post-secondary readiness.Collaborate with students, families, teachers, administrators, and community partners to promote student success and well-being.Participate in MTSS, student support teams, and other collaborative meetings to identify student needs, implement interventions, and monitor progress.Monitor student academic, attendance, and behavioral progress, connecting students and families with appropriate supports and resources.Support crisis response efforts and help foster a safe, positive, and inclusive school environment.Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive school counseling program while ensuring accurate records and student confidentiality.Participate in ongoing professional development and perform other duties as assigned.Job Qualifications-Master's degree in School Counseling, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited program.Valid South Dakota School Counselor certification/licensure, or ability to obtain the appropriate certification/licensure prior to employment.Two (2) years of experience preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience)Valid South Dakota Driver's LicenseBenefits-Health, Dental, and Life InsuranceHealth Savings Account OptionsSouth Dakota RetirementSick LeaveCompany Website-Bhssc.orgFor additional information or questions please contact Joe Hauge at View email address on ziprecruiter.com or View phone number on ziprecruiter.com.
