Full-time position

The Receiving Clerk plays a critical role in the supply chain by ensuring that all incoming shipments are accurately received, inspected, and documented. This position is responsible for verifying the quantity and quality of goods received against purchase orders and shipping documents to maintain inventory accuracy. The Receiving Clerk collaborates closely with sales, warehouse staff, and purchasing teams to resolve discrepancies and facilitate smooth inventory flow. Attention to detail and organizational skills are essential to prevent errors and support efficient warehouse operations. Ultimately, this role contributes to maintaining the integrity of inventory records and supports overall operational efficiency within the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with inventory management software or databases.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items safely, regularly up to 50 pounds.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse role.
• Familiarity with barcode scanning and electronic data interchange (EDI) systems.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse environments.
• Ability to operate forklifts or pallet jacks (with certification).
• Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.

Responsibilities

• Receive and unload incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and packing lists.
• Inspect goods for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report any issues to the appropriate departments.
• Accurately record received items into inventory management systems and update stock levels.
• Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure proper storage and handling of received goods.
• Maintain clean and organized receiving areas to promote safety and efficiency.
• Communicate effectively with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve delivery issues.
• Assist in periodic inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure data accuracy.
