Maintenance Technician IIAnticipated start date: August 10, 2026 Monday - Friday: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (includes one 15-minute paid break and one 30-minute unpaid meal break) Weekly working hours: 40 Wage: $38.53 - $41.40 per hour (2025 - 26 PSE Salary Schedule) $39.54 - $42.44 per hour (2026-27 PSE Salary Schedule) Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of refrigeration and commercial appliances of all District properties. Benefit Eligibility: Insurance: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, basic life insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance provided the assignment is anticipated to work at least 630 hours per year. Retirement Plans: This position is eligible for a 403(b) TSA Retirement Savings Plan. Paid Holidays: This position is eligible for up to 13 paid holidays per year. Number of holidays depends on employee's start and end dates. Paid Time Off: Employees working 12 months per year earn 12 days of paid vacation per school year. Employees working 237 - 260 days per school year earn 12 days of sick leave. Up to 3 days of personal leave may be granted each school year. Vacation, sick leave, and personal leave are based on scheduled hours and position start date. Snoqualmie Valley School District benefits are administered by the Washington State Healthcare Authority (HCA) under the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB). Eligibility for benefits is determined by the number of hours employees are anticipated to work during the school year (September 1 through August 31). Any employee who is scheduled to work 630 hours or more in a year is eligible for benefits.SNOQUALMIE VALLEY SCHOOL DISTRICT JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Title: Maintenance Technician 1 and 2 FLSA Status: Non-ExemptReports to: Director of Operations Classification: Classified-PSEDirected by: Director of Operations Supervises: NoneWork Year: 12 Months per Year Salary: As Stated in SchedulePosition Summary: Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of interiors and exteriors of all District properties.Qualifications Required - Maintenance Technician 1Possess a valid driver's license, be able to drive, and qualify under the District's insurance carrier when driving a District vehicle.High School Diploma or GED/equivalent.Demonstrated high degree of skill and knowledge of a journey level trades worker in maintenance areas including the proper use and care of appropriate tools and equipment.One or more years prior successful commercial and residential maintenance experience.Prior experience planning projects, estimating labor and material costs, and communicating this information in writing and verbally to parties involved.Thorough knowledge of all safety standards, laws, codes, rules and regulations which pertain to the primary craft areas assigned.Basic understanding of electrical systems and code requirements.Valid Washington State driver's license.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Detail oriented; possess strong initiative and excellent organizational skills.Demonstrated effective oral and written communication in the English language, including correct grammar and spelling usage.Legally eligible to work for any employer in the United States of America as verified by Form I-9.Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint clearance.Qualifications Required - Maintenance Technician 2All of the above ANDThree or more years prior successful maintenance experience.Good understanding of electrical systems and code requirements.Qualifications DesiredPrevious experience in a public school setting or related learning/development environment.Familiarity with work order management and facilities scheduling software.Basic knowledge of employee attendance software.Essential Functions and Responsibilities1. Performs normal maintenance of electrical circuits and devices commonly serving commercial buildings.2. Performs general carpentry work, including framing, door hanging, plaster-boarding, glazing, floor and tile installation, painting, etc., and makes all types of general structural repairs.3. Conducts general plumbing repairs to all types of systems and fixtures.4. Maintains general knowledge of service and maintenance of HVAC systems in accordance with service manuals.5. Exercises good judgment in selecting materials and supplies and the methods of performing the tasks in the assigned craft areas.6. Inspects and monitors work in progress and upon completion checks for compliance with codes, specifications and that acceptable standards are followed.7. Maintains an inventory of materials and equipment and makes recommendations to the Director of Operations concerning purchases.8. Coordinates work schedules with the Director of Operations and Head Custodians.9. Checks completed work requests for accuracy of data.10. Understands and practices all safety requirements associated with the work area, equipment, etc. and reports any unsafe conditions.11. Assists in other crafts as necessary.12. Assists building custodians with minor maintenance tasks.13. Acquire forklift and scissor lift certification; District will provide training upon hire.Nonessential Skills and Experience1.
