About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery/Postpartum Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor & Delivery/Postpartum Duration: 8 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years in Labor and Delivery License: Required licensure and certifications Certifications: BLS, ACLS, EFM, NRP Must-Have: Ability to work in LDRP setting Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse for Labor & Delivery/Postpartum. The facility has 241 licensed beds and is a Level 3 Trauma center. The unit consists of 8 labor rooms, 3 triage rooms, 1 OR suite, and 1 PACU. On average, expect to care for 4 to 6 patients per day. The patient ratio follows AWHONN Staffing Guidelines: 1:2 for inactive labor, 1:1 for active labor, and 1:3-4 for couplets. The skills required include labor management, circulating cesarean sections, pre-op, PACU, triage, resuscitation of newborns, Pitocin management, and epidural management. The unit supports resources including a charge nurse available 24/7 and hospitalist services for newborn care. The EMR system used is Epic, along with various monitoring technologies. Floating may be required per regional needs within scope of practice. Weekend rotation and holiday expectations apply, with travelers expected to work 75% of holidays. Up to 6 days off may be approved, excluding holidays. Teamwork is emphasized in the unit culture.
