Salary Range: $130,000-$150,000 annually*

Astrion has an exciting opportunity fora Senior Enterprise Architect located at Hanscom AFB in Bedford, MA providing support to the Aerospace Management Division (ESA).

The Aerospace Management Systems Division programsdevelopsdelivers, and sustains air traffic management and landing systems, CNS/ATM avionicsexpertise, and weather sensing/forecast capabilities enabling military and civil customers to achieve their mission.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS

• Education: Master's or Doctorate Degree in a related field and ten years of experience, five years of which must be in the DoD
  • Bachelor's Degreein a related field and 12 years of experience, five of which must be in the DoD
  • 15 years ofdirectly relatedexperience with proper certifications as described in the PWS labor category performance requirements, eight of which must be in the DoD
• Clearance: Must have an ACTIVE Secret Clearance

RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate willprovideEnterpriseArchitectsupport that willperform workinvolvingthe analysis, planning, design, implementation, documentation,assessment, and managementof theenterprisestructural framework to align IT strategy, plans, and systems with the mission, goals, structure, and processes of the organization.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Developsreference models of theenterpriseandmaintainingthe information in the IT repository

• Determinesthe gaps between the currentand the target architecture andrecommendingplans for transitioning to target architecture

• Recommending the policies and principles to guide technology decisions fortheenterprisearchitecture

• Identifiesopportunities to improveenterprise-level systems to support business processes andutilizeemerging technologies

• Promotes and educatescustomers and stakeholders on the use and value oftheenterprisearchitecture

• Providesenterprisearchitecture guidance, support, and coordination to customers and IT project teams

• Documentstheenterprisearchitecture infrastructure, including the business units and key processes, using modeling techniques

• Ensurestechnical integration is achieved across theenterprisebyparticipatingin test planning, validation, and reviews

• Evaluatesthe impact ofenterprisearchitecture products and services on IT investments, business operations, stakeholder satisfaction, and other outcomes

• Coordinates and conductsgovernance and portfolio managementactivities associated with ensuring compliance with theenterprisearchitecture; and/or ensuring the rigorous application of information security/ cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices to all components of theenterprisearchitecture

• Supportsimplementation and execution of agile software execution in concert with Governmentand Prime contractors

• Supports andadviseson developmentofserviceorientedarchitectures for software development

• Providessupportforsoftware architecture and design, developmentand evaluation of standards and servicesrequiredto promote the requirements defined by and developed through user centered design

• Advisessoftware architecture,enterpriseactivities and working groups, which include but are not limited to; Meta-Data ManagementTeam, DCGSEnterpriseTechnical Working Group, DCGS Operation Technical Working Group, DCGS Knowledge ManagementTeam, Operational Users Focus Team and Test and Evaluation Focus Team

• Supportsdocumentation developmentand review, briefings, training material development, implementation, integration and fielding of products and support to technical interchanges via teleconference or in person

• Providesrecommendationsinmaking software design choices

• Engagesin the design of the architecture of the platform/hardware environmentwhere software will be deployed

• Providessolutions andassistanttothe Common Data Fabric effort in support of Governmentpersonnel

• Interfaceswith theuser(s) andsponsor(s) and all otherstakeholdersin order todeterminetheir (evolving) needs

• Performscost-benefit analyses, as requested,todeterminewhether requirements are best met by manual, software, orhardwarefunctions; making maximum use ofcommercial off-the-shelfor already developedcomponents

• Performsan interfacing function, on behalf of the Governmentengineers, with the design and implementation engineers and architects, so that any problems arising during design or implementation can be resolvedIAWthe fundamental design concepts,and user needs and constraints

• Ensuresthat a maximallyrobustdesign isdevelopment

• Assistsin generating a set ofacceptance testrequirements, together with the designers,test engineers, and the user, whichdeterminethatall ofthe high-level requirements have been met, especially for thecomputer-human-interface

• Assistsin ensuring that all architectural products and products with architectural input aremaintainedin the most currentstate and never allowed to become obsolete

• Provides systems engineering and support technical evaluations and analysis and documentdevelopmentand review

• Providesrecommendationsregardingthe establishmentand compositionofservices and capabilities

• Providesrecommendations to align theenterprisearchitectureproduct(s) developmentwith industry and Governmenttechnology best practices,standardsand specifications

• Providesengineering support to continually assess impacts of new standards onenterprisesoftware design and implementation

• Conductstechnical exchange sessions supportingenterprisearchitecture and design including technical exchanges withenterprisecommunity stakeholders

• Conductsuser site visits, telecons, and other direct and indirect support for tasks as directed

• Ensuresthatarchitecture andstandards developmentactivities support implementable products and functionality

• Translatesemerging and accepted architecture standards intobacklog use case descriptions and support understanding of new requirements as part of theagile developmentprocess including but not limited to test driven development, continuous integration/continuous deploymentpipeline

• Experience working directly with modern software applications, products, and intel tools

• Problem solve and troubleshoot various situations to develop successful outcomes within established program/project guidelines
