A well-established and growing organization is seeking a hands-on Human Resources Manager to join its People & Development team. This is a working manager role responsible for both leading a small HR team and actively handling day-to-day HR responsibilities across the organization.


The HR Manager will supervise two HR Generalists while remaining directly involved in recruiting, employee relations, benefits, onboarding, compliance, performance management, HRIS administration, and other HR initiatives. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys being in the weeds , can balance individual contributor responsibilities with team leadership, and is comfortable jumping in to handle HR needs as they arise.


OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:

• Supervise and develop two HR Generalists, providing coaching, guidance, workload management, and day-to-day support.
• Manage and execute day-to-day HR operations, remaining hands-on and directly involved in HR activities and employee needs.
• Lead full-cycle recruiting, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, job postings, candidate communication, and coordination with hiring managers.
• Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including offers, HRIS updates, benefits, documentation, equipment, system access, and employee communications.
• Administer employee benefits and compensation programs, including open enrollment, benefits communication, HRIS updates, reporting, and compensation support.
• Handle employee relations and performance management, including employee concerns, investigations, performance issues, coaching, and disciplinary matters.
• Maintain HR compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
• Maintain accurate HRIS and personnel records and prepare HR reports, metrics, and analytics for leadership.
• Coordinate employee training, development programs, engagement activities, and company events.
• Partner with HR leadership and managers on HR initiatives, policies, and organizational needs.
• Take ownership of HR projects and day-to-day issues, ensuring timely and accurate follow-through.

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive HR experience , including 2-3+ years in a supervisory or management capacity.
• Previous experience leading and developing HR team members .
• Broad HR experience across recruiting, employee relations, benefits, onboarding/offboarding, compliance, and performance management.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including EEOC, FMLA, ADA, and related requirements.
• Experience with HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) .
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, with the ability to create and analyze HR reports and metrics.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information with discretion.
• Comfortable working independently while also collaborating closely with HR leadership, managers, and employees at all levels.
• Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves approach to HR with the ability to balance team leadership and individual contributor responsibilities.
