Supply Technician

Responsibilities Performs causative research to resolve critical inventory discrepancies. Performs extensive research on inventory discrepancies and imbalances identified through warehouse denials, customer complaints/inquiries, physical inventory counts, location surveys, special inspections, etc. Determines the causes of discrepancies and makes or coordinates appropriate adjustments to correct inventory records and documents. Processes Supply Discrepancy Reports (SDRs), through research and resolution. Performs Shelf‑Life updates and Care of Supplies in Storage (COSIS) on stock as required. Participates in evaluating and analyzing trends for inventory discrepancies. Assists specialists in the analysis of automated systems and the implementation of new applications. May operate material handling equipment (MHE) such as forklifts and stock selectors to move material. Requirements Must be a U.S. citizen. Tour of Duty: Set Schedule. Security Requirements: Non‑Sensitive. Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination; a negative result will constitute grounds for removal. Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA): Non‑Exempt. Selective Service Requirement: Males born after 12‑31‑59 must be registered or exempt. Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Material Handling Equipment (MHE) license. Must be able to obtain and maintain licenses and/or certifications required by the installation, federal, state, and local laws. Qualifications To qualify for a Supply Technician, your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, typically in or related to the position to be filled. For formulaic comparison,  one year of specialized experience is equivalent to the GS‑06 level or equivalent under other pay systems. Conducting physical inventories and location surveys. Investigating stock/record/material discrepancies impacting inventory balances or Supply Discrepancy Reports (SDRs). Preparing reports concerning results of investigations performed. Physical Demands Work is performed in office settings and warehouses. Workers must stand on hard surfaces, maintain balance for extended periods, bend, stoop, reach, and twist in tiring positions. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lb.; greater weights may be lifted with assistance or material handling equipment. Must be capable of accomplishing emergency escape procedures from a captive aisle stock selector at heights of 40 ft. Work Environment The work environment involves moderate risks or discomforts that require special safety precautions, such as working around moving parts, carts, or machines, exposure to adverse weather conditions, or exposure to irritant chemicals. Employees may be required to use protective clothing or gear, such as masks, coats, safety shoes, goggles, hearing protection and/or gloves. Education One academic year of graduate education is considered to represent one academic year of full‑time study; if unavailable, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) may satisfy the requirement. Foreign education credentials must be evaluated by a private organization and deemed equivalent to an accredited U.S. education program.
